Good morning planners, FEBRUARY IS HERE! we all know what that means......the month of love!......planner love to be exact. Here at Createyou86 we want to say thank you for visiting, and welcome to our newest blog series. There are a few exciting events happening at Createyou86 this month that we wanted to let you in on. First is our February blog series. Here is all of the information about it. We are very excited to welcome Ty from @Ty_Catching_Fire from Instagram for this series. Not only is she a planner, but she also runs her own business. This series should be great seeing things not only from Createyou86's perspective, but from Ty's as well. Another part of this series is the February photochallenge. Be sure to tag @Createyou86 and #CY86FEBCOLLAB so that we can like, and com.ent on your photos! (scroll for more!) The last super awesome part of this series is the sale that i am hosting on my Fauxdori Store . The entire store is 20% off through February 15, 2015 when you use the code: 20VALENTINE. If you have been wanting to try out a Midori type planner for half the price + 20% off of that!! Now is the time. We have 3 day affordable shipping, all products are handmade, and we accept PayPal, and all major credit cards. Now onto the good stuff..... Have you ever looked at someones planner, and wondered how does that planner compare to mine, and should i trade mine for that one? I think we all have. As the planner realm expands, and a ton of new crafters, and entrepreneurs are adding new planners to the planning community, we often wonder if we should change planners, and in the planning world most planners can choose their favorite planners outright weather it be the beloved Filofax or the beautiful Erin Condren Life Planner, or the Midori Travelers Notebook or even the Fauxdori which many different companies have made more affordable in contrast to the MTN. Today i would like to take some time to compare some of Createyou86's favorite planners, and share them with you. Let's start with the Personal Planner, and the Personal size Domino Filofax. I love both of these planners and the Personal Planner is about $39.95 including shipping (depending on the size that you choose) in comparison to the Filofax Domino which ranges between $45-$55 without shipping depending on which model you choose, and what country you order from. The Personal Planner is spiral bound which makes for easy writing on either sides of the page, and the Filofax is ring bound, which as a left handed person always poses a challenge to me. Both planners are completely customizable. If you own a hole punch, some papers, and clear tape the sky is the limit with either of these planners. (Coming in future blogs this month!) The only real difference between these two planners are that the Personal Planner comes with a plastic pouch, you can personalize your cover with photos which is difficult to do with a Filofax unless you don't mind ruining it, the credit card holders, and the front and back pockets that the Filofax has do not exist in the Personal Planner. Both come with elastic closures, and a ruler. In a Filofax you can't choose which color your ruler is, but in a Personal Planner you can. I would also like to compare the Filofax to a Createyou86 Fauxdori. You might already know that the Fauxdori is the less expensive version of the Midori Travelers Notebook or MTN which is a piece of leather with several elastic bands inside to attach notebooks to, and an outside elastic that holds the notebooks together so that they don't fall out. Some comparisons between the Createyou86 Fauxdori (shown above), and the MTN are that the Fauxdori is made from a signature woven paper. This paper can only be cut NOT ripped, and is very flexable. The color of the woven paper is brown with golden hues. (CLICK HERE TO READ AUBREY EASTWAY'S PRODUCT REVIEW) Inside the notebook can range from 1-2 elastics based on the size that is purchased to hold inserts or notebooks. All Createyou86 Fauxdori's come with the first insert included in the price except for the XL Size. Most notebook inserts can be replaced very inexpensively from a local Michael's Store, Dollar Tree or Target $pot. Createyou86 prides our product on being a quality product for at least half of the price if not more (20% off entire store through February 15th) of the original Midori. In comparison the products for Midori are pricey. The MTN itself ranges in price based on size, and weather it is a special edition or not. In addition to the original MTN purchase you also need to purchase notebooks, or print your own inserts from Etsy Shops which can range between $6.00 - $18.00 a piece. The Createyou86 Inserts can be purchased at an everyday store for $.50 -$1.00. You can buy other products from Midori ranging from pen holders, to plastic pockets. The MTN is a quality product if you want to spend double the money + shipping from a foreign country.
We hope you enjoyed these planner comparisons, and that it helps you to decide which planner is the best for you. These are only a few planners that are available. Be sure to check out Ty's Blog to see which planners she will be comparing, and which planner is her favorite. My favorites right now are my Createyou86 XL Fauxdori, and my Personal Planner. Which are your favorite planners, and why? Be sure to leave us some comments below!
