Welcome to the second post in the Createyou86 April Back to Basics Blog Series.  This post will be all about which planning supplies new planners could benefit from owning.  If you have been following me for a while on any social media, or this blog you know that i love the Dollar tree, Target Dollar Spot, and any other bargain places to buy supplies.  I love these places to shop because everyone's planning budget is different, and great planning doesn't need to be expensive.  If you would like to keep up with my hauls you can either check my Instagram, or my Youtube Channel.  I am always trying to find affordable planning items.
If you are new to planning....WELCOME! The planning community is amazing, and has so much to offer, but do not be fooled into thinking that you need to have super expensive items to be an effective planner.  Below will be a list of affordable planners, and planning items that every new planner should own.  These items can be found at either The Dollar Tree, Target Dollar Spot, or Michael's (Recollections Brand).  This post is not sponsored these just happen to be some of my favorite brands in the planning world.

  1. Recollections Brand Planner (Ringed or Spiral)
  2. Recollections Planner Inserts
  3. Sticky Notes
  4. Page Flags
  5. Stickers (Can be for aesthetic purposes, or functional planning) Recollections, and MAMBI have great options.
  6. A pen that you love
  7. Washi Tape (for decorative purposes)
  8. List Pads

This list is pretty comprehensive, and you can customize your planner however you like.  I do not purchase from Michael's unless I use a coupon.  I hope that you are enjoying this Back to Basics series!

Let me know in the comments below WHERE DO YOU BUY AFFORDABLE PLANNER ITEMS?

Great list! I'm a pretty basic planner because I don't have a ton of time. I have Washi tape but never get around to using it. My favorite tool is my mult-colored pens. They are pretty much the only thing that make my planner pretty:-)

Kathy,
Thanks for stopping by. Sometimes basic is more functional for people. Pens are always a nice touch as well.
