Welcome to the last post in the Createyou86 Domestic Tourists November Blog Series.  Throughout this series we have provided tons of tips on how to plan, and perfectly execute a more than affordable cross-country trip of your very own (one way with animals if you choose!) without pulling out your hair.  Here are the final stats for our trip.
  • In 4 days we traveled 2,698 miles.
  • We spent $183.00 on gas.
  • We traveled through 11 states.
  • We spent about $300.00 on hotel stays.
We feel like this trip is financially doable for pretty much anyone, or we wouldn't have been able to do it.  Plan on doubling it if you travel round trip.  We planned on having a $2,000 budget, but as you can see the trip turned out to be not even half of that which is pretty incredible.  So go ahead, cross this awesome adventure off of your bucket list....make it happen.  You will be one of few people who can say that they have actually done it, and you won't be saying "One day i wish...."  This post is simply a photo journal of our cross-country travels.  We hope that you enjoy our photo journal.
We hope that you have enjoyed this series.  Check back next week for the first post in our December Blog Series.  (OMG December is already here?  Where has the time gone?) We truly enjoyed sharing our adventure with all of you.

Do you want to go on a cross-country trip now that you know it is completely affordable?  Let us know in the comments below!

Sarah,
Thanks for stopping by. Yes, those are waffles we had at our hotel in Amarillo Texas. They were so soft and fluffy!

Dang, you got an awesome trip for not much money at all! We used to make the drive from Michigan to Texas and back once a year (total, 36 hrs of driving), and even that I'm sure cost us more than $183 in gas for our small sedan! Of course, by the looks of your pictures, it seems gas prices have gone down a lot! I haven't ever seen gas in the USA for under $2 in person! When we lived there, it was a lot closer to $4 in Michigan, anyway.

Randomlyrachels,
Thanks for stopping by. We lucked out big time with gas prices. When prices dropped about a year ago it made it much more affordable. The lowest price we saw for gas was $1.74, and there are even apps that tell you where the cheapest gas prices were. We never veered off of the highway (unless it was a town we stopped in) which is normally where the highest prices are so i'm sure that if we had gone off roading a bit we would have found cheaper. Probably 10 or 15 years ago was the last time we saw prices that low or lower, and as soon as we left Cali the prices dropped immediately.

I LOVE this series. So helpful! Traveling to NY to visit family we saw a field of wind turbines like in your picture. Crazy how big they are, and how many they put next to each other. Definitely a sight to be seen.

Catherine,
Thanks for stopping by. I was wondering how many people it takes to build just one turbine, and who has the job of putting it together at the top. Those turbines were in Texas. We truly enjoyed this series, and we are so happy that you enjoyed it so much!
