Welcome to the fourth post in the Createyou86 Cool Winter Blog Series. This post is all about planner peace. What is it? Will you achieve it? Have i achieved it? Is it possible to achieve? I am very boldly (very boldly indeed) going to say NO to all of the above questions. I can hear you now "But i have the perfect inserts, and the perfect size planner chosen, and I will use it for ever, and ever." There are a few reasons that i doubt this.
The first reason that i doubt that you have found planner peace is because there are always so many new options. I bet that i can name at least ten planner brands, and i'll bet that you have tried at least 3 types of planners in your lifetime. This could mean a school planner (that they give to you in gradeschool/highschool), and probably even several brand name planners because you are in the planner community, and that is just what we do (try new planners.) The second reason i doubt that you have found planner peace is summed up in just one word really, and that word is YOUTUBE! I can't tell you how many planner videos i watch a week. It has to be over 20, and i can't get enough of them. I am constantly analyzing other peoples planners, and trying to think of what would work better in my planner, and constantly tweaking it if i can. I bet that you are guilty of the same thing. You may not even realize that you do it, but doing this will never find you planner peace! The last reason i doubt that you have found planner peace is because of Facebook, Instagram, Etsy, Twitter, Michael's, Target, Dollar Tree, and Hobby Lobby. The sheer volume of planner related groups on Facebook, live-streams of people doing planner flips, hauls from various stores, and the sharing, and encouraging use of coupons to be able to buy new planner products makes it virtually impossible to save money, and impossible to even try not to purchase the most recent dollar tree washi tape, dollar spot post it notes, and notepads, Etsy sticker sheets, MAMBI sticker books, or even Recollections planners (of any type). The deals are just so great!!!!! So......the next time that you hear the phrase "PLANNER PEACE" just remember that that phrase that we planners love so much sells products. It sells millions, and millions of products promising something you most likely will never achieve because companies want you to keep on buying their planner supplies! Don't feel guilty the next time that you find yourself scouring the dollar spot for the newest sticky notes, but don't tell yourself that a sticky note that cost a fraction of a penny to create will solve your planning problems. The solving starts with you, and your planner (maybe you guys need a heart to heart!) The fact is that you need nothing, but a cheap planner or notebook, and a pen or pencil to actually plan, and planner peace has reeled us in HOOK, LINE, SINKER! I hope that you have enjoyed this post, and this series so far. Don't forget to stop back soon for the last post in this series. Let me know in the comments below What are you guilty of purchasing to find "Planner Peace?"

Welcome to the first post in the January Cool Winter Blog Series here at Createyou86. Welcome also to 2017 it feels good to be back! I hope that you had a great holiday, and new year celebration. As we all know January is the time of looking back at what we acheived last year, and how we will improve with goals for the new year. Throughout 2016 i kept track of goals on a monthly basis, and with my new C'est la vie zip planner from Recollections i can do that again because it comes with a monthly insert. This post will be all about my REALISTIC goals for 2017 so keep scrolling for more! December 2016 was really rough for me. I had the flu which i have been fighting for over three weeks, and i had the stomach bug over the new year, so all of my goals for December were put on hold. This made me really upset because i had so many blog posts, and other things that i had planned that i wasn't able to complete. I felt like i failed my followers, and myself.
Fastforward to 2017, and here we are. Now i have a fresh chance to create some new goals that i see as realistic. Goal #1 Drink Juice Regularly This may seem like a silly goal, but i drink ALOT of soda. I also drink a lot of water, but milk, and juice are on my back burner. I love milk, but it does not love me so i tend to stay away from it unless my body is really craving it. Juice will give me all of the calcium that i miss from milk, and i love the taste of juice. My favorite juices are V8 Fusions because you get the best of fruits, and vegetables. Goal #2 Organization and Planning I am a planner, and to most people that means that you are organized. This is a serious misconception of planners, and the planning hobby. I love to plan, but my organizational skills have been horrible since i was very young. I have my planner stuff organized, but it still spills out over into other sections of my room. I want to find better storage solutions, and make sure that my hobby is not overflowing into space that should be for both of us. Goal #3 Get Back to Blogging and YouTube As i said before December was rough, and blogging kind of got away from me. I want to be more consistent, and bring you all what you love. I love writing blog posts, and making YouTube videos, and i can't wait to jump back in with both feet. I feel like these are all goals that i can attain pretty easily, and that i can keep updating each month as the year goes on. Let me know in the comments below what is one of your goals for 2017? |
