My sisters wedding is in May, and i wanted to purchase a corset to wear with the dress i would be wearing for the affair. I looked at several online stores, and found lightinthebox.com. This store had a ton of cute corsets, at seemingly the right sizes, and were very very affordable. This item took FOREVER to arrive I ordered it March 5, 2015, and didn't receive it until March 27, 2015. The company waited about 9 days after my ordering the product to let me know that this product was backordered. Mind you i was ordering this product for a wedding in May so I was already anxious for its pending arrival. I had to email the company in order to find out that information. The size of the product i ordered was XXL, and the received product was not even close to that, but again i have seen so many products come in from China, and not be the right sizes. I didn't realize that the product was coming from China until after I ordered it and realized that they were using the international shipping company EMS. Needless to say i will not be purchasing from lightinthebox.com ever again, and please, please, please be careful choosing the size of your purchase if you do choose to order from this company! What is your ordering horror story? I would love to hear your comments below! Disclaimer: I am not endorsed by this company. I used my own money to purchase this product. All opinions are honest, and my own.

Sunday's on Createyou86 are Book Club days. Today I will be posting about Part 4 of Eleanor The Queen, and questions 12-15 in the review at the back of the book. Synopsis: King Henry, Eleanor's Husband dies, which causes Eleanor's freedom when her son Richard becomes King of England. Richards first order of business is to begin a new crusade to the holy land. She was not released until 6 July 1189, when Henry died and their son ascended the English throne as Richard I. Now queen dowager, Eleanor acted as regent while Richard went on the Third Crusade, where he was captured and held prisoner. Eleanor lived well into the reign of her youngest son, John. By the time of her death, she had outlived all her children except for King John and Queen Eleanor of Castile. Review Questions: 12. Eleanor said "One should never dispair." Eleanor had been through 16 years of being imprisoned, becoming almost deathly ill, and dealing with bad news such as the death of her son, but she always stayed positive by knowing that her release would come eventually, and knowing that a bad attitude would make the situations worse. She also used memories to keep her mind clear of negativity. 13. Eleanor's son Richard who is King of England appoints his mother as Regent of England. He does this because he is away in Spain preparing for his crusade, and England is going to hell in a handbasket while he is away. He selects his mother because she has a way with words, understands policy, and was previously Queen of England. She is more prepared to do the royal work of England than her son Richard is. The challenges that stand in her way will be controlling the figure heads that have taken over England in their absense. 14. For some rulers such as the King of Spain who allowed his daughter to choose who she wanted to marry believes that love has something to do with it, but most marriages were to avoid war, gain land, gain riches, and were apart of royal politics. Sometimes at birth children were promised to another country or suitor. 15. I believe that Eleanor would make a great leader as she always considered what might happen ahead of time, and thoroughly thought out her plans. She is also very knowledgeable about local, and global politics, and knowledgeable about how to get her people to love her. ⭐⭐I sincerely hope you enjoyed either reading this book, or following along with us here on Createyou86. Storybook Apothecary Article Tuesday's are transformation Tuesday's on Createyou86. Good afternoon planners, Have you ever been so stuck or lost when trying to complete a project that you completely scrap your plan, and go with plan "B"? I can't even count how many times this has happened to me. I finally asked myself "When am I going to start making my plan "B" my plan "A"? Most peoples plan "B" is put into action after all scenarios of plan "A" have been worked through to no avail, but why not rely solely on your Plan "B"? There is obviously something that makes you choose a plan "B" most likely it looks something like safety, security, and something to fall back on. I have heard so many times that you need to be safe, and have a backup, but if you plan accordingly, and your plan "A" has all of the same outcomes as plan "B" AREN'T YOUR PLANS BOTH THE SAME? Your actions may be different, but they all work toward the same goal, so take your time, create realistic, and workable goals, and don't hold yourself back because someone else told you you won't succeed or you need a backup plan. Check out this weeks planner decorations below. We hope you enjoyed this post. If you did, feel free to share it with someone you think might benefit from it.
Sunday's are book club Sunday's on Createyou86. Welcome to the review for Part 2 of Eleanor The Queen. This part of the review consists of pages 175-271, and questions 9-11 in the review at the back of the book. Synopsis: During part 3 of this book Eleanor is put in jail by Henry her husband. She is still Queen of England, and is locked away because Henry thinks it is Eleanor's fault that his children bore from her are rebelling against him. While jailed for the second time Eleanore befriends another jailed woman named Kate. Eleanore becomes very I'll thinking she has plague, and writes a will for her remaining children. While Eleanor is in Jailed she learns of her sons death. Toward the end of this part Eleanor has been in jail for 16 years, and does not know of her possible impending release. 9.) Eleanore doesn't trust her son because she has several memories of his trickery, even in very early childhood. He was nicknamed "slippery John". He also doesn't know his move ahead of time. He makes his plans as he goes.
10.) Alys let's Eleanor know that she would agree to anything that would keep her out of prison. Eleanor let's Alys know that there are so many kinds of prison. This just shows the different mindsets of women, and what one is willing to do for a man. 11.) Eleanore wins Kate over by singing songs, and telling her the story of Troy. Being in prison for so long, and not having Amaria around Kate becomes a friend to Eleanor, and a helper in her times of need. How are you enjoying the book so far? I find Eleanor to be very empowering, yet very stubborn, and I can relate to her greatly. I am looking forward to part 4, and I look forward to seeing you here next week! What is your favorite part so far? Feel free to comment below, and share this post with someone who you think might enjoy it! Sharing is caring! Welcome to the sixth, and final post in the Createyou86 Planner Awareness Month Blog Series featuring Isabella from labellavidadesign.com. We had a great time creating this blog series, and we are looking forward to next months as well. Today's post is about different planner sizes, and planner needs.
I use my Createyou86 XL Fauxdori for a commonplace book holder, website information/business information I want to check out. I use my Personal Planner which I won in a giveaway for anything pertaining to this blog, specific posts, series, and any information regarding the bloggers that I work with. I use my Personal Domino Filofax for personal planning and information regarding important personal dates, birthdays, events, as well as references for health, and expenses. I use a nondescript passport size blank notebook from the Target Dollar Spot to keep notes about my mastermind group, and topics which have been previously discussed. I use my SugarpaperLA 2015 planner for anything pertaining to Createyou86 Design. My small business coaching/mentoring service. This includes client appointments, and anything blog or website related as well. I enjoy planning, but sometimes I don't enjoy having 4 separate planners. I am hoping to find an A5 size binder planner to eventually combine everything into one place, but for now these planners are what keeps me organized. I hope you enjoyed this post, and this series! if you did, Sharing is caring. We would love for you to share our posts to someone you think might benefit from them. ⭐⭐On Tuesday I launched a new small business coaching/mentoring service called Createyou86 Design. The Createyou86 Design Experience Welcome to the fifth post in the Createyou86 March Planner Awareness Month Blog Series featuring @Babybellex3 from Instagram. Today i want to share some reasons that your planner may not be working for you.
1. Its Too Strict Most planners are very strict in that there is a certain format or design. Maybe that isn't working for you. Maybe you need a new, more clean design, or a design that isn't so restrictive. I love FIlofax because they are completely customizable, and come in so many sizes. However i also enjoy the design of the Personal Planner in that it is completely customizable from cover to cover in a much different way than a Filofax. 2. It's Not Realistic Maybe your a mother of four, or maybe you have no children, but run your own company. Is your planner designed especially for your needs, or are you making use of a planner for someone not specifically you? There are so many planners for so many different people, and realistically some of those planners may not be the best fit for you, or your needs. Just because it is pretty, and works for someone else does not mean that you will get the same effect if you use it too. 3. It Was An Impulse Purchase It's that time of year again. It is a few months into the year, and new planners are on sale EVERYWHERE! They are all so colorful, new, pretty, organized, convenient, streamlined, flashy, and seemingly "customized just to your needs". Are these statements describing how you feel each time you look at a planner that is on sale? If so, your planner might have been an impulse purchase. It is a great idea, and I strongly encourage trying out different planners, and planner styles. However, just because a planner goes on sale, it doesn't mean that those particular planners are going to suit your needs. Again this goes back to point three to be realistic about your purchase. 4. It's The Wrong Size Planners have different sizes for a reason. Some planner users need more space for daily activities, and others write smaller, and would prefer a smaller planner. Some planners are small enough to just throw in a handbag, or even put in your back pocket while others are A5 size, desk size, or larger. The great thing about Filofax planners besides being ring bound is that they come in several different sizes from compact to A5. Personal Planners which are spiral bound also come in several different sizes to suit different fancies. Make sure that your planner is the right size for you. Weather it ring, or spiral some planners come in one size only, and that may not be great for your specific needs. 5.You Aren't Using It Yes! it's beautiful, crisp, the pages aren't bent, and the colors are perfect. Those are all great things, but in reality if you are a planner they aren't. Your planner may be beautiful, but if you aren't using it are you actually accomplishing anything? If you are, you may not need a planner. A planner isn't any good not being used. I thought that my Sugar Paper LA planner was too pretty to use so i didn't use it until i found a very specific use for it, and even then because of how crisp it was i didn't want to deface it, but i finally took the plunge, and wrote in it. Writing in a planner is how we planners get things done! You can start small, and pencil things in which is great if you have a lot of appointments, use sticky-notes, and hopefully that would lead to using pen, or even a permanent marker (on certain paper) . The key to planning is writing it all down regardless of how "pretty" your planner is! 6. It Isn't Readily Available You bought your planner, you wrote your appointments, and now you forgot to bring it with you. We talked about mobility in point number four. Is mobility a problem for you? You might not have the right planner. Are you conveniently forgetting your planner because its too much work to put it in your bag? Is it too big to fit in your bag? I always make sure that my planner is with me, and if it is not with me that is because i am at a specific engagement where i know i will not need it. I am that planner that sleeps with my planner over my bed, and it sits next to me all day long (My bed has shelves attached to the back of it, and i work from my bedroom). I always know where my planner is, and it is readily available for my use. I hope you enjoyed this post about why your planner might not be working for you. If you did be sure to check out Isabella's blog for her reasons why your planner might not be working for you in her opinion. Why do you think your planner isn't working for you? Welcome to the review for part 2 of Eleanor The Queen. This part of the review consists of pages 99-175, and questions 5-8 in the review at the back of the book. Synopsis: During part 2 of this book Eleanor becomes remarried after her divorce, to the Duke of England Henry. During her marriage to Henry, Eleanor bears 4 sons. 2 of whom Henry favors more, and one who dies very young. Henry insists on giving his sons their titles at very young ages, which causes a rift between Henry, and his best friend/Chancellor Becket who Henry also makes Archbishop of England. Eleanor advises Henry not to do this for the separation of church and state. He ignores her pleas, and in the end Henry's best friend is murdered by 4 knights who knew the hardship that the archbishop planned to cause the Duke. Henry never recovers from Becket's murder, and grieves him heavily. Toward the end of part 2 Eleanor begins to realize that Henry is gone for exceedingly long amounts of time with no message of when he moves on or is returning. Eleanor rides to try to meet him at his latest destination, and is surprised to learn that Henry is cheating on her with a much younger girl. Upon her arrival she finds the girl very sick, and gives her advice to wait the day (for the rain to stop), and to go the next day to receive medical treatment. Eleanor does her no ill harm. Upon arriving home Henry finds out that his mistress has died (not realizing that she was sick upon Eleanor's arrival), and he accuses Eleanor of murdering her. He resents Eleanor until divorcing her. During the last couple of pages of part 2 the sons born to Henry decide to rebel against their father, and show their allegiance to their right King of France, and Eleanor's ex-husband. This causes Henry to wage war on his own sons, and Eleanor's near death to a traitor of Henry's kingdom. 5.) The saying of "good enemy, good lover" is an example of how men of the time were supposed to woo women. Eleanor enjoys the old traditions of knights knowing how to speak to a woman, and treating them better than a piece of property. I think she expected more from him than others who has tried to steal her away, and force her into a new marriage. 6.) Henry not being a monk is letting Eleanor know that he is unlike other Kings or men in that he is more vulnerable to worldly pleasures, and that a woman will hold a special place in his heart. He will love her , and cherish her. It was much easier for Eleanor to be herself. Henry let her take part in most affairs of England. Henry didn't mind that she "meddled" in affairs, as he expected her to take care of certain affairs when he was away doing other things for the kingdom such as shutting down all of the unofficial castles of the realm. 7.) Thomas Becket is a character that is seen earlier in the book when Eleanor is married to Louis in France. He is seen as someone that Eleanor desires, and admires, and wants to engage in conversation with. However, when Henry first meets Thomas, Thomas shows his discontent with the Duke by not giving his cloak to a needy person along their way on a trip because he had just bought it, and it was too nice to give to someone below him. Henry realizes that what Thomas says is wrong, and grabs the garb from his back giving it to the needy person anyways. After all he is Duke! Eleanor feels that he resembles Abbe Bernard who was only interested in himself, and his personal gains. Despite what Henry sees he ignores her pleas, and becomes best friends with Thomas making him Chancellor, and Archbishop of England. When Henry makes Thomas Archbishop they become bitter enemies, and Henry still does not realize the significance of the cloak incident. 8.) Eleanor bears 4 sons to Henry. One who dies very young Henry III. Henry the eldest was younger in spirit. He enjoyed playing at being King, he had a group of friends who he hung around with, and was very frivolous. He never knew the amount of men available for his army or the weapons available. Richard, knew the strengths of his domain down to the very last person in his kingdom, Eleanor wished that he had been the eldest child. She felt Richard most resembled herself. Henry was sound at heart, and she thought he would quiet down in older age. I hope you are all enjoying the book so far as well as these reviews. I am thoroughly enjoying this read. This book is based off of a real woman Eleanor of Aquitaine, and has lots of Woman Power Moments which we should all celebrate as strong women! I'm looking forward to part 3, and i hope to see all of you here next week. ******What is your favorite part so far? Post it in the comments below i would love to know your thoughts! Welcome to the review for Part 1 of Eleanor The Queen by Norah Lofts. Part 1 consisted of pages 1-99, and review questions 1-4. Synopsis: Part 1 began with Eleanor's father being "killed by the plague" which wasn't true as far as the reader knew. At this time Eleanor's friend who was also her suitor (and was supposed to marry upon her fathers arrival) was killed by her father's closest advisor. At this time he was also plotting how to marry her. He came up with a plan to prevent war by marrying Eleanor to the King of France Louis VII. She moved to France to live with him, and became very unhappy. This was the time of the crusades so Louis thought it well to start a crusade of his own to Jerusalem. Eleanor was considered nosey, and unruley by Louis' court, and was kept away from him as much as possible. Louis' advisors tried to make it so that she wouldn't be able to go on the crusade with Louis, but she figured out how, and she took the oath of the crusader. Part 1 ends with Louis and Eleanor divorcing after a failed crusade, (a threat of divorce by Eleanor), a fail to produce an heir, but a second daughter, and Eleanor moving back home to her loved Aquitaine. 1.) It is learned early on that Eleanor spent a lot of her time with her father learning everything that a man would learn. She also knows that regardless of what she wants, it is the best idea in order to prevent war. 2.) Louis' advisor let's him know that his wife is not to meddle in affairs of the state, and that he has been divinely selected to rule France, and Aquitaine. He assured this by giving Meridon to the man who didn't deserve the land, and by going directly against the queen. 3.) Peter was to carry the Gospel to the Gentiles, whom, until that moment, he had despised. The rose stood for the good thing, the thing he wanted strength for the war. The spider stood for what he hated, female interference. When he dropped the spider he lost the rose, and Peter had rebuked him just as God rebuked Peter for turning away from what was offered just because it was offered in an unacceptable form. Eleanor thwarts his plans by getting her army together, and joining the crusade. 4.)Louis' last mistake was to try to take control of Jerusalem, and he allowed the troops to stay behind and the Turks attacked, and killed half of the army. In my opinion Eleanor does not deserve the blame for the massacre at Phrygia because she did what she felt would protect her people. in the long run, and Louis' half of the army was mostly killed due to his poor decision making. I hope you are enjoying the book so far, and I hope to have you back next Sunday for part 2 in this series. Feel free to leave your thoughts below! Welcome to the second post in the Planner Awareness Month Blog Series featuring @Babybellex3. Tuesday's are Transformation Tuesday's on the Createyou86 Blog.
Good morning planners, Looking at the headline of this post you might think that i am clinically insane. I promise you, I'm not! As someone who uses Social Media more than social interaction (i'm working on that) i am proud to say that i use Facebook, but i don't love it. I have turned my personal Facebook page into my business Facebook page because I don't have a cell phone number to verify in order to create an official business Facebook page (you heard right I DON'T HAVE A WORKING CELL PHONE NUMBER!) If you follow me on Facebook or any other social media outlets you might realize that most days i post several times a day. These posts mostly consist of photos on Instagram which also get automatically posted to Facebook, and Tumblr, or are a new blog post which do the same, but are not Facebook advertisements or photos created by me for Facebook purposes. This is mostly because i don't spend much time on Facebook. While reading articles, and seeing peoples responses to certain posts it literally sickens me so i steer clear. I have a Facebook mastermind group which is comprised of 9 members, and it is specifically based around planning, and blogging so i spend most of my Facebook time with that page open, and refreshed. I belong to a few other Facebook communities, none of which allow any type of bullying, or negative commenting. I have even noticed that my personal posts have been to the bare minimum. I might post if i go out to lunch with friends, or occasionally what i'm listening to or what i am watching on Netflix that is inspiring me at the moment. I see too many negative posts, and people airing dirty laundry on Facebook. The substance just isn't there for me. I can go onto Instagram, and see tons of photos that inspire me, and with a click of a button be on that persons blog exploring their page. I can also use Flipboard to explore news articles directly related to topics i request to read about without seeing 5,000 negative comments. In conclusion, yea....I use Facebook, but i don't create Facebook specific social media posts because i don't enjoy most of the advertising on Facebook, or what Facebook has turned into. I remember in 2003 having to have a college e-mail address to be able to even sign up for Facebook. I much preferred it that way. On another note I fully respect everyone's right to their own opinion regarding Facebook, and what people choose to post. After all, there is a block/report preference for a reason. Let us know what you think about Facebook in the comments below, or tag us on social media #cy86transformationtuesday. Check out this weeks March Planner Decor Series below. Welcome to the first post in the Createyou86 Planner Awareness Blog Series. If anyone had told me five years ago that i would be an avid planner in 2015 i probably would have laughed, and blew you off. In highschool, and even college i either tried to remember, or just didn't care enough to remember to bring books home, or remember due dates, or i relied on my friends to tell me. It wasn't until i saw someones beautiful planner setup on Instagram that my world was turned upside down. After learning, and researching the planner community i decided to try using a planner. The first planner i purchased was by Avery for Target (I have YouTube setup videos available). This was a great basic planner setup. I purchased a pack of monthly views, a little longer than a year WO2P, 3 packs of notepaper, a set of 5 plastic heavy duty dividers, and the coordinating binder for $20.00 +/-. This system was awesome for someone just starting out, and testing the planning waters.
Planning has changed my life in multiple ways. I have always been relatively organized (outside of school work), and i have always been a punctual person. Planning has done nothing, but improve these qualities in me. I no longer forget important assignments, or appointments. Planning also helps me get my thoughts out more clearly when i make time to sit down, and plan each week out. I love the Filofax system because it is customizable to my needs. In many ways a three ring binder could be as well except for the fact that there are no weekly, or monthly inserts to plan with i would have to create my own. To move a thought or paper all i need to do is open the rings, and move it wherever my heart desires. Planning has also helped me to plan, and organize Createyou86, from website building, to blogging, and YouTube. Planning really clears my mind, and makes room for new ideas. Welcome to the Createyou86 book club! This is a FREE book club for anyone who wishes to participate. I have always been an avid reader, and have recently found myself moving away from reading unless i'm researching blog posts, or something else involving this blog. I decided that the best way to get myself back into reading was to create a time, and space where i pushed myself. Do you remember back in elementary school when you were required to read 15 minutes a night, our parents had to sign off on it, and it felt like three hours? I do, and i hated it, but it made me the avid reader that i am today. Here is the catch....When I moved from PA to CA, i left all of my books in PA. Being on a tighter budget i decided that i would expand my reading through affordable books. Enter "The Dollar Tree where EVERYTHING is $1.00". I have purchased books from the Dollar Tree previously, and most of them i really enjoyed. This just reinforced that i don't have to break the bank to find a great read. That is why this book club will be completely comprised from books found at The Dollar Tree, to make it affordable for anyone to participate. DISCLAIMER: I am not sponsored by anyone from "The Dollar Tree" or anyone involved in the writing of any of the books to be read in this club. It was my creative idea to create a book club for this blog, and to choose the books based on affordability, and content that i enjoy reading. I am also not sure how readily available each specific title will be throughout the US. For each book I will provide the cover photo, and ISBN number. The first book will be: Eleanor The Queen By: Norah Lofts. The ISBN is: 978-1-4391-4611-8. Included in the back of this book are group discussion questions.
