Welcome to day twenty-six of the Createyou86 May A-Z Blog Challenge. This is the final day of the challenge, and we have definately reached our Zenith! This was our first time doing a blog challenge let alone an alphabetized one. This really was a challenge. I tried batching in the beginning, and I have had so much going on this month with our vacation, and being in a wedding that it made it hard to keep up. I was writing posts at midnight or later.....even the morning of. Even through all of the craziness I still thoroughly enjoyed the process! Did you all enjoy reading these posts? Would you prefer to read alphabetically or all posts based around a theme? We would love to hear your thoughts so that we can possibly do another blog challenge in the future based on what you all enjoy reading. We are so thankful you have stuck with us through this process. Next week we will be back to our regularly scheduled programming featuring a bunch of new product reviews, and our normal weekly blog posts.
We have a few new YouTube videos up, and there will be a few more vacation type videos up as well to give you all a sneak peek into our Pennsylvania vacation. Welcome to day twenty-five of the Createyou86 May A-Z Blog Challenge today i wanted to do a quick guide about coloring. When you think of coloring, do you think of children? Guess what..... Coloring isn't just for children anymore! I found this awesome article on Huffington Post all about the advantages of coloring as an adult, and i wanted to do a quick guide for those of you who feel that coloring is only for children so feel free to Read the article here .
Some of the advantages include:
Check out another awesome article on adults coloring on Psychologies.co.uk . When i was in college, and stressing out about anything i would break out some colored pencils or crayons, a dollar store coloring book, and pretty much immediately relieve any stress i might have been feeling. You don't need to be perfect, and in the lines. Coloring is something that should relax you, and let you be creative. No one ever has to know that you have a coloring book, but it was definitely a godsent to me when i was stressed out in college, and just needed to unwind, or even after a stressful day at work. Be sure to grab your FREE ADULT coloring page below! Tomorrow is the last day of the Createyou86 May A-Z Blog Challenge! (Insert sad face!) Have you been following along with us? Did you enjoy reading these challenge topics each day this month? How do you feel about coloring to relieve stress as an adult? Let us know in the comments below! If you are taking the challenge this month be sure to tag us on social media so we can come check out your posts! #CY86Blogchallenge . Welcome to day twenty-four of the Createyou86 May A-Z Blog Challenge where i want to talk all about X words. I feel like the letter X is left out quite a bit because there aren't many words, if any that it rhyme with, and it is towards the end of the alphabet. There just isn't a lot that you can do with the letter X. Well, today I am going to prove you wrong if you believed anything that i just said!
Sometimes I think that i might have xanthophobia. This is the fear of the color yellow. Yellow is known for being a color that can cause anxiety so you are never supposed to paint a baby's room yellow. Now, i'm not afraid of yellow, but I believe that it might cause anxiety. Maybe that's why i can't wait to eat my food when i get to McDonalds?! I have also always had an obsession with xenoepists. These are people that speak with a foreign accent (British, Australian, American Southern.) Maybe i have such a fascination with these xenoepists because i have always wanted to visit foreign countries? Have you ever seen the "Alien" movies from like ten years ago? Do you know what species those aliens were? They were called Xenomorphs. I never saw these movies, but i have since seen the aliens on other television shows, and i think that they are pretty nasty. What do you think? Are you seeing where i am going with this post? Want some more? Keep reading! Do you ever get a bad case of xeroflulogitis? You probably know this better as the often cliche phrase of being "lost for words" or " the lack of word-flow". Lately i have been full of words. Seeing old friends, and family, and having a lot of things to catch up on! Do you ever get xickovit which when pronounced sounds exactly like (sick-of-it) which is kind of funny because it means exactly that. To be sick and tired of or annoyed by something. I hope you are not xickov this post! (LOL) What are some of your favorite "X" words? Do you use many? Let us know in the comments below! (be sure to leave their meanings!) Welcome to day twenty-three of the Createyou86 May A-Z Blog Challenge. Where in the world have you been? Do you enjoy traveling? Do you hate traveling? If you could go anywhere in the world.....where would you pick to go? I love to travel, and have had the luck of being able to go to some beautiful destinations. Here are some of the places i have traveled to. In photos..... I have also had the chance to visit most of the Eastern Seaboard, and at least landed in a plane in most of the central states as well. In the future i would love to visit Europe, and Africa.
Where have you visited? Where was your favorite place to visit? Let us know in the comments below! Be sure to check out Davishingmundo and Fourxblessed on their Createyou86 Blog Challenge Journey! What is your vision? Do you struggle with vision for your brand? Do you struggle with the vision for your blog, your future, or just vision for being a creative? A few months ago i created a post all about Vision Boards. Here are a few bits of inspiration:

We are happening upon another Monday, and another full week of information. Do you ever feel like your brain is not being used to its full potential? Sometimes i feel like this, and sometimes i feel like i can't handle anymore information, and that my brain will explode. Today's post is about unlocking the mind. One secret that i have learned is that (please tell everyone!) Your brain is not for storage. Many people think that if they can just remember everything that everyone tells them that people will think that they are smart......However, one of the most amazing pieces of advice that i ever received was in a college psychology class from our professor, she said that: It has been scientifically proven that if you cram to review test information up to five minutes before the test, you most likely will not do any better because you have already retained the information previously that you will remember for the test. That day in class there were several students who did not believe this information from the teacher. Therefore, she allowed the students who did not believe her to review any study papers that they had for 5 minutes before the test, and the rest of us just waited for the test to begin without studying. The students who did not cram for the five minutes actually did better on the test than the ones who did. BUT HOW? Well your brain simply is not for storage! According to Munsterberg's theory quoted by Leonard Mlodinow the author of the national bestseller Subliminal None of us can retain in memory the vast quantity of details we are confronted with at any moment in our lives and that our memory mistakes have a common origin: they are all artifacts of the techniques our minds employ to fill in the inevitable gaps. Those techniques include relying on our expectations and, more generally, on our belief systems and our prior knowledge. As a result, when our expectations, beliefs, and prior knowledge are at odds with the actual events, our brains can be fooled. In other words, when we overthink, and don't go with our gut (like our teacher tried to tell the class to do) our brain can misinterpret the information that is being fed to it. So if you have read the information for the class, and studied what you think is a sufficient amount, then you should feel confident, follow your gut, and know that you have already retained the information that you need to pass the test!
Have you ever tried to cram right when you walk into a test? How did it help your score? Let us know in the comments below! Be sure to check out Davishing Mundo and Fourxblessed on their blog challenge journey! You can also follow the challenge on social media #CY86Blogchallenge. Come back tomorrow for (V) Vision. Welcome to day twenty of the Createyou86 May A-Z Blog Challenge. What are the three most important songs to you?
The three most important songs to me are (in no particular order): "Baby One More Time" by Britney Spears. This might sound silly coming from a 29 year old, but I raised myself on pop music, and I feel like when her first song debuted in 1998 it unleashed the new standard for pop music going forward. "Walk This Way" By Run DMC featuring Aerosmith. This was one of the pioneering songs to mix hip hop, and rock, and made this mix popular. This song will always be remembered by hip hop, and rock enthusiasts. "Rehab" by Amy Winehouse. This song helped change how I felt about jazz standards. Before hearing Amy Winehouse sing I hadn't heard any real jazz. I heard her voice, and fell in love with it. I had heard Etta James, but Amy Winehouse changed the game for me. Her soulfulness blew the roof off of any performance she ever did. I don't agree with how she squandered her life away, (but who am i to judge?) I know for a fact that she had a ton of talent that would have taken her to amazing places in her life and career had she lived to see it. ⬜ What have been the three most important songs to you in your life? Welcome to day nineteen of the Createyou86 May A-Z Blog Challenge. Is there something that you are forever losing? Weather you are just setting it down for a second, or it is something you're hiding, and then forget where you put it, I am sure you have something that you do this with. For me, it is my phone. The same device that I am typing this blog post on, and every other blog post for that matter. I "lose" my phone probably 10 times a day on the minimum. I will set it down in another room, I'll put it in my handbag, I'll leave it in the car. You name it, and iv probably left it there. This phone is a Samsung Galaxy S3. This phone is in no way small, and has a white case on it so it stands out against pretty much every other color. Now you can't call it to find it because it isn't on a network, I have a different phone that I make calls on, but I love this phone for the apps, and how it runs. I am just used to it. No matter how many times I misplace it, I always panic because it has all of my personal photos, business/blog photos, and all of my favorite apps including the original Flappy Bird which you can no longer purchase from the app store or Google Play.

Do you ever stop, and realize that some of the conversations that we have with family, and friends, are completely ridiculous sounding? Sometimes they are hysterical, and other times just plain crazy. Are you an eavesdropper? Confession Time: One of my favorite things to do is when I am out to dinner or in a public place like a mall, train, or park is to listen to other peoples conversations weather it be on a cell phone, or in person. I'm not sure where this evolved from for me, but I don't do it to be nosey (its not like I'm going to throw my 2¢ into their conversation), but I love hearing the emphasis, and emotion that other people put into their stories. Conversation this morning: Mom: Emily........(I am sleeping at this point). Mom: Emily........(slowly walking to the bedroom door). Emily: What? Mom: Do you have my keys? Emily: Yea..... Mom: I'm late give them to me. Emily: Your not late! Mom: Yes I am! Emily: Go down 401 I promise you won't be late! (rolling her keys down the stairs for her, and walking back to bed.) ⬜ What was the last conversation you had or heard that might sound a little crazy to a passerby or an eavesdropper? I ask them "How are you?" I don't think that we as an American culture put enough emphasis on caring how each other are getting by in the day to day of everything that is happening in our lives. Is it really so hard to ask someone how they are, and listen to them for more than 30 seconds if they start to explain? I can't tell you how many times someone has asked how I was, waited for a super short generic answer, and just moved on expecting it to end there. Not only is it rude, but it is disrespectful as well. I can honestly say that I care what someone's day has been like! When you ask someone how their day has been, it might be the best five minutes of their day when you actually listen! Just slow down, and if you don't expect an answer longer than ten seconds or so, you shouldn't have asked it in the first place.

What was your world like when you were twelve? Here is a sneak peek into what I saw at twelve years old.
I am pretty smart, well I guess I am. In English class I am reading at an 11th grade reading level but I am only in 6th grade. My favorite subjects are Earth Science, English, and Choir. Everyone makes fun of me because I am very tall, and very skinny (the tallest girl in our grade). The boys used to let me play tetherball with them on the playground last year because I can get the ball the highest Most days I wear stretch pants, and a hoodie because I hate jeans, and I just want to be comfy, but I see everyone else's on trend clothes, and sometimes want those too. (I don't know how anyone could like jeans they are the most stuffy clothes in the world!!). My mom has dressed me in dresses pretty much my entire school career, and the popular kids make fun of me for it (they say it makes me seem snaaby?). whatever. Say what you want! I love to sing (I'm pretty sure that's what I was put on earth to do) I love choir which I started last year because you have to wait until you are in 5th grade to join. I want to be famous, but I have very bad stage fright. If I could sing with anyone right now in 1998 I would choose Britney Spears, Michael Jackson, and *NSYNC. Britney just came on the scene, and she is so pretty, and talented. Michael is my idol, and I am completely obsessed with every piece of music he has ever released (I own every CD he has ever released so far!). *NSYNC has Justin Timberlake, and he is so hot!! So is JC Chasez, and their voices just meld so melodically. I want to see all of these people in concert so bad! I think I'm starting to like boys. I have a boyfriend, but I'm not very nice to him, and everyone makes fun of us with that stupid kissing singsong. GROW UP! Needless to say I'm not a huge fan of school, I do what I have to, to get by. The cool thing is that my neighbors who are twins, are only a year older than me so I see them sometimes at school when we change classes! They are so cool, and super smart! I wish I was as smart as them. They are also really talented at art! I can't even draw stick figures straight. Anyways, maybe I'll see you tomorrow in school. Bye for now. Once upon a time, far far away. A princess, and her prince were preparing for a month long treacherous trip to a new land. They packed their bags, and set out. Their journey was hard, but they finally arrived to the lush destination. Their kingdom has been in a drought for four years so it is so nice to see the beautiful green surroundings. Once they arrived they had much preparation for a new royal wedding. The bridal shower, the bachelorette party, the rehearsal dinner, and of course the actual wedding. The princess even got to meet, and spend time with her brand new niece and nephew. What happened last week in your lives? Was it like a fairytale? Tell us in the comments below! How comfortable are you with your memories? I love to read books about psychology, and about how the brain functions. I found a book that I had started reading quite a few years ago, but never finished called Subliminal: How Your Unconscious Mind Rules Your Behavior by Leonard Mlodinow. On pg. 62 Leonard writes Münstern published his ideas about memory in a book that became a best seller, On the Witness Stand: Essays on Psychology and Crime. In it, he elaborated on a number of key concepts that many researchers now believe corresponded to the way memory really does work: first, people have a good memory for the general gist of events but a bad one for the details; second, when pressed for the unremembered details, even well I intentioned people making a sincere effort to be accurate will inadvertently fill in the gaps by making things up; and third, people will believe the memories they make up. Reading further to pg. 76 Leonard talks more about memories. Have you ever doubted yourself, and a story you were telling, or a specific detail that may or may not have happened within a story? Here is why you may have done this. False memories and misinformation are so easy to plant that they have been induced in three month-old infants, gorillas, and even pigeons and rats. As humans, we are so prone to false memories that you can sometimes induce one simply by casually telling a person about an incident that didn't really happen. Over time, that person may "remember" the incident but forget the source of that memory. As a result, he or she will confuse the imagined event with his or her actual past. Being as fascinated as I am by all of this information it makes me seriously go back, and take a look at certain situations in my life. It even sometimes makes me feel uncomfortable in my own skin. After learning this, how comfortable are you now in your own skin? Would you like to start from scratch, and make sure that your memories are legit? I know I would!

Do you believe in karma? I do! I believe that I have led a relatively good life. Have I done the occasional crappy thing? OF COURSE! However, I do what makes me, and my fiancé happy. I tend to not worry much about what other people think of me, or the things that I do. I get plenty of questions about why this, and I have no explanation except that I was Born this way baby! That being said I don't ever do things to intentionally hurt anyone Ever. I think my future karma is in pretty good standing? I say that with a question mark because nobody can tell the future, not even me :)

These posts have been full of little personal tidbits that we hope you are enjoying. One more tidbit is that generally I (Emily) do not remember my dreams, and any dreams I have that i do remember are in black, and white. As a child I had a couple of recurring dreams. When I say recurring I mean relatively frequently (a couple of times a month). In one particular dream I am a very young child in a black and white city that is literally crumbling down around me, and I am with my family. In a panic to get out of the city I am separated from my family, and find myself alone surrounded by lava coming out of the cracked earth, and sheer panic happening all around me. In an attempt to find a safe spot, I run as hard, as fast, and as long as my little legs will take me. I end up in a town down the road that is relatively untouched by the surrounding chaos. I decide to run into the forest where I seem to have played before, and looks familiar to me. I have stopped running, and begin to take in the wildlife surrounding me. I hear the birds chirping, the plants are luscious, and as I walk deeper into the Forest, and the foliage becomes thicker I happen upon a barrier. Seemingly a wall, but upon closer inspection it is a triad of doors made from the surrounding trees, and there is no way around it. I must go through one to continue my journey. Each door has a number placed upon it, 1, 2, 3 so I rely on some childish schoolyard edict and think to myself . First is the worst, second is the best, third is the one with the hairy chest! While deciding that the second door is clearly the best choice, I step closer to the door a little fearful of what will be on the other side.
I place my tiny hand on the handle, turn, and push.....what greets me on the other side of this particular door is not my family who I had lost in the earlier panic, but my best friend. He was much younger then, but he is my now fiancé, and I couldn't think of anyone I'd rather be trucking through a dream with. Have you woken up yet? If you were in a nightmare, and had 3 doors to pick from that you had to go through what would be on the other side of one of them? Let us know in the comments below! Welcome to day nine of the Createyou86 May A-Z Blog Challenge. Today's post is based on my humble opinion about something that has helped mold me as a human being....music.
In this article written by Jethro Mullen on CNN Is rap the most important music since 1960? Scientists say they have proof. it is discussed that rap is in fact the most revolutional music since 1960. However, it is also discussed that the group of scientists who performed this study, or any scientist for that matter no matter how smart they are can never specifically pinpoint what each song or genre means to each specific person. Music has molded my life. From the early age of 4 (although my mother will tell you it was younger than that), I began to sing. I sang karaoke in our friends family room to the 1989 favorite "Wind Beneath My Wings" by Bette Midler, and began taking voice lessons per my request at the age of five. I had no idea that fourteen years later I would have been in every choir from fifth grade on (when we were allowed to start choir in school). In my senior year in highschool alone I sung over 100 pieces of music (that year I was in 3 choirs!). ⬜ I have been in multiple competitions (one at Epcot in Disney). ⬜ I have been directed by Eric Whitacre who is one of the most popular and performed Grammy winning composers of our time. ⬜ Sang for four years with the Delaware Orchestra. ⬜ Competed as the youngest competitor ever at the NATS (National Association of Teachers of Singing) competition at University of Delaware. ⬜ Recorded my own song with a producer in Florida when I was 18. (completely over the internet). ⬜ Recorded my own versions of songs. Music is IN ME! Take a look at my Google Play account, or my iTunes account, and you are bound to see a wide variety. Music ranging from Classical, to Etta James, to The Roots, to Britney Spears, Michael Jackson (I idolize both of these performers!), to Eric Whitacre, Panic! At The Disco, Walk The Moon, Lady Gaga, Amy Winehouse, Avicii, Bellarive, Ben Harper, Boy George (yes the 1980's popstar), Breathe Carolina, Christina Aguilera, CHVRCHES, DMB, Deadmau5, Demi Lovato, Drake, Jay-Z, Kanye West, Jason Mraz, Jeannie Ortega, Kesha, Joss Stone, Timbaland, Justin Timberland, Kelly Clarkson, Keith Urban, Lights, and those are among the many 1,622 songs just on my iTunes account. I have tattoos that are lyrics based, and title based as well, because certain songs have made a profound impact in my life. It would take me more than this blog post to tell you exactly how I felt about music, or the impact that it has made on my life, and I believe that is the poi t of the above article. That no matter how scientific you get, everyone is always going to have their own feelings about what music has made the most impact on their world. Has hip hop and rap done that for me? Yes, I love a good rap or hip hop song, and I know most of the words to any popular, and even some less popular Eminem songs, but I don't define my love for music with one genre. As you can see from the above post I love a diverse array of music. ⬜ Is hip hop the most revolutionary music for you? Let us know in the comments below! Come back tomorrow for (J) Just A Dream Welcome to day eight of the Createyou86 May A-Z Blog Challenge. Today I wanted to let you all in on one of my favorite recipe's that my mother makes, and has made for me for quite a while! This might sound crazy, but it is a potato salad. Here is a little tidbit about Emily from Createyou86. I HATE MAYONNAISE! However, there are certain foods that have mayonnaise in them that I will eat. My moms potato salad is one of them. Here is the very simple recipe:
Mom's Potato Salad 1. Half bag non peeled red potatoes. 2. Boil until relatively soft. 3. Allow potatoes to sit in a strainer in the sink (until excess water and starch have drained). 4. Place in bowl, cover, and place in refrigerator to cool. When potatoes are cool remove from refrigerator. 5. Add 1 large onion diced. 6. Add 5-6 pieces of cooked bacon (cut in small pieces) 7. Add dill to taste. 8. Add salt and pepper to taste 9. Add desired amount of mayonnaise (you may need more than normal because the potatoes will soak it up, and you don't want it to be dry.) 10. Mix thoroughly. 11. Serve and enjoy! What was your favorite recipe from when you were growing up? Let us know in the comments below!
