Happy New Years Eve, and welcome to the last post in the Createyou86 Traditional Holiday Blog Series. There is one reason that these posts have been so late. The reason is that i had the flu, and was out of work, (and basically out of commission) for an entire week. This flu threw my entire month of December off. This was the worst sickness i have ever had (and i have had Mono!) I hope that this post finds all of you well, and ready for the holidays! Only eight more days until Christmas, and i have all of my wrapping done! I wanted to share with you my last planner setup for 2016. That is so strange to say! Below you can watch the Youtube Video that i posted a few days ago. I hope that you all have a wonderful holiday season, and I will see you all with new planner setups in 2017! Let me know in the comments below what is your favorite brand of washi tape?

Welcome to the long awaited second post of the Traditional Holiday Blog Series here at Createyou86. We are officially four days away from Christmas, and this blog series has taken all month to be released. i am still not better from my bout with the flu, but i am trying to push through. I have all of my presents wrapped, and i thought that i would post a few of my favorite bargain planning supplies that you could purchase for the planner in your life. These are just a few of my favorite planner items that i have even given as gifts this year. I hope that this post has been helpful for simple bargain ideas for the planners in your life. Be sure to come back in the next couple of weeks to catch up on the Traditional Holiday Blog Series.
Welcome to the first post in the Traditional Holiday Blog Series here at Createyou86. I am so excited about this series. Winter is such a wonderous time of the year, and with the holidays there is always more joy in the air. This series will be some traditional posts like previous years from Createyou86, and ther will also be some non-traditional items, and posts that you might not expect to see. This first post is all about my winter favorites for this year. I have said in other seasonal posts that these types of posts are some of my favorite. I love figuring out things that i am loving at any moment because i am not really a journaler, and it gives me time to reflect on the season, and moment. Some of my favorites this winter include: Hoodies I know that i mentioned this last year, but hoodies, and my love for hoodies never ever goes out of style. Who doesn't love throwing on a comfy hoodie, and watching some Netflix, or binge watching some YouTube planner videos? Candles Candles are amazing. When i say amazing i mean that they are everywhere in our house. Weather they are being used for a romantic dinner, or you are relaxing in the jacuzzi candles can always bring the scent of the season, and relaxation to the home. Hot Chocolate Hot Chocolate is one of my favorite holiday, and winter drinks. One of my favorite Keurig k-cups is the Starbucks Hot Chocolate. It has just the right amount of chocolate, and never comes out watery. You can always add some marshmallows for a little extra pizazz. New Planner Goodies This is pretty obvious for Createyou86. I am very obviously obsessed with planners, and planner goodies (there will be a post coming up). I love getting ready for the new year in all of my planners, and finding new goodies around the holidays! First Snow Here in Pennsylvania the first (big) snow is normally beautiful. The first snow is when everything is completely covered for the first time with snow, and hasnt become brown, melty, and dirty from salt, and melting snow. It is the best to make snow angels in, and beautiful to look at, and take photos of . Traditions Tradition runs strong in our family, and we love to create our own traditions. This year we started a new tradition where we created our own ornaments. We used metalic pop-poms, and matching glitter to create our own ornaments (you just put as many pom-poms in the top of the ornament that you want, and add some similar colored glitter into the ball as well, and voila! your done. There are a ton of other family traditions that i will be carrying on, and I have even purchased a holiday recipe binder from Hobby Lobby to pass down traditional family holiday recipes. You can watch that haul, and flipthrough HERE.
I hope that you have enjoyed this post, and that you are as excited about the holiday season as we are here at Createyou86! This series will be all month long in December so keep coming back for more! Let me know in the comments below do you have all of your holiday shopping done? (I'm almost done!) Welcome to the second post in the Createyou86 Cool Winter Blog Series. We are now a couple of weeks into January, and the new year is finally setting in. For me 2016 was full. It was full of change, and new adventures, and i wanted to share my year with all of you.
I hope that your 2016 was awesome, and that you take a minute to recap your year for yourself. I find this a great way to reflect, easily! Recap in the comments below your 2016 in one (1) sentence! Welcome to the first post in the June Planner Choices Blog Series here at Createyou86. My posts have been a little sparse, and that is because i am just finishing up school classes for my CDA (Child Development Associate). I have been working on it since November 2016, and it has been taking up a lot of time, but i am excited to keep blogging through it. This series conveniently (or maybe not?...) will be all about planner choices. The choices that we make relating to planning can make or break a planning system for us. It can also make or break us when it comes to being consistent in our planning routines, and planning in general. This first post is about distractions in planning. Do you ever find yourself planning, and all of a sudden............................SQUIRREL? I do! So i wanted to let you know some of my top distractions when it comes to planning anything. Keep reading to find out.
Having classical music playing in the background at lectures or while studying create a heightened emotional state that makes you absorb information better. (2014) 4. Having planning related items on my desk while planning such as my box of stickers, or other planners can be very distracting. I need only the planner that i specifically need to work with, or my brain will wander to the other planner which has no significance, or start to think......"OHHHH stickers!" 5. The last thing that causes me distraction is Television. If i am planning i can't even be in the same room as a television. I am also one of those people who when i sleep need to be in complete darkness, not be touched, and have a decent amount of blanket. I watch more Youtube than Television, but if i decide to sit downstairs instead of in my office i can't be near the Television! I hope that you have enjoyed the first post of this series!
Let me know in the comments below WERE YOU DISTRACTED BY THE LINKS IN THIS POST? WHAT IS YOUR BIGGEST PLANNING DISTRACTION? Resources Studying for finals? Let classical music help. (2014). News.usc.edu. Retrieved 4 June 2017, from https://news.usc.edu/71969/studying-for-finals-let-classical-music-help/ Welcome to the third post in the Createyou86 Cool Winter Blog Series. This post is going to be my official planner face off. I am going to discuss one of each of the planners that i own, and what they are used for. I may even throw in some tidbits about each product that i like or dislike. If you are looking for a new planner, or are a first time planner this post will be perfect for you. The first planner that i want to discuss is the Passion Planner. I am using my Passion Planner as a business planner. This planner is where i am keeping all of my business ideas, and business planning. I am taking lots of notes, and this planner is really great if you are a time based planner. The next planner i use is the Recollections Spiral Planner. I found this Recollections spiral GOALS planner at Michael's in late 2016. I love the horizantal setup of it, and i am using it for school to keep track of assignments, and schedules. There is plenty of room, and it even includes several goal planning pages, a zipper pocket in the back along with several hundred stickers including monthly tabs. *I am not a fan of the monthly tab stickers because they have unattached themselves several times from my planner, but the other stickers that you actually place in the planner are great. I would highly recommend this planner if you are a student. The next planner to discuss is the Filofax. I am a Filofax user through, and through. I own several Filofax's in different sizes. Finding Filofax posts on Instagram was how i got into the planning community. I love the Filofax for its ringed system, durability, quality, price range, customer service, and the different styles. I used this Personal Gold Special Edition Saffiano for the entire year of 2016 for my personal planning, and i loved it. I would recommend trying a Domino style Filofax if you are just starting out, and then to maybe move to the more expensive/different styles that you may spend a little bit more money on if you find that you really love the ringed planner style. The next type of planner that i use is the fauxdori. For quite a while the Travelers Notebook brand was the only type of travelers notebook around. Then people realized that these planners were basically a piece of leather, or vegan leather with elastics inserted. This specific planner is the Michael's Bohemian Recollections Fauxdori (Faux meaning non-leather product) from 2016. This planner is booklet based, and was super affordable ($7.99.) There are no rings, you just insert the notebooks onto the elastics. This specific one has been restrung by me to have it so that the book is held completely together. However it did come with a loose leather type string around it. You can find these all over the place on Etsy. Some of my favorites are Buteo Bunker, and Poppy & Hide for real leather. The final planner that i would like to discuss is the Recollections Creative Year Binder. If you are new to the planning community Michael's is your best friend. They have an inexpensive alternative to owning a Filofax right away if you are leery of the price point called the Recollections Creative Year Binder. These start at $20.00 for personal size, and $30.00 for A5 size. With the frequent %40-%50 OFF coupons that are provided by Michael's this makes them more than affordable. They also have a ton of planner supplies to go with them. I own several of these including the rose gold color you see in the photo.
I hope that you have been enjoying this Cool Winter blog series, and that this post provided you with some insight into which planner you might pick from this year, and going forward. There are plenty other planners out there, and these are just my personal favorite so far. All of these planners fall in the $7.00-$30.00 price range, and even less after coupons (which are always your friend when shopping at Michael's!) Stay tuned for more from this blog series.
