Hello :) My name is Dalyn (pronounced day-lin) Here is my story:
I have loved crafting practically all my life. It started one summer when I was about seven or eight years old. I was attending Summer Fun and each day we'd play games, sing or dance, and have arts and crafts. Although I was a very active child, the class I looked forward to the most was arts and crafts.
That summer was the summer I found that I had a real knack for crafting. Each class we'd make something new and each class I was almost always the first to finish-unless it had to do with coloring or decorating, I'd be one of the last because I had to make sure it was perfect. When I was finished though, my leaders would ask me to go around and help my group, so I would.
I attended Summer Fun almost every year after that until I reached Intermediate School. I then volunteered at Summer Fun as a group aid each summer until I graduated High School, and guess which group chose me to assist...Arts and Crafts! Although the leader was the one who planned all the activities, I was the one who carried them through since I was the one who was able to figure them out and then explain them easily.
After graduating High School, I worked as a Group Leader at an After School Program (A+) with the YMCA. A+ was a little different than Summer Fun since they had homework. We also had to take them out for snacks and have one outdoor activity and one indoor activity per day. Planning indoor activities for me was a breeze, outdoor activities weren't as easy to plan for but since we had books and training's and SPARKS activities, I was able to plan those too. Each day I did an arts and crafts activity with my group, usually the activity lasted only an hour or two, but sometimes I had activities that took a few days to complete.
I worked at A+ and Summer Fun with the YMCA for almost 6 years. If I were to list every single activity I have ever done with my kids it would take hours to read. Some ofthe crafts we did included making cards during the holidays, gifts for the kids to give to their parents, board games,  and tons of other things. You see, when it comes to crafting for me, the possibilities are endless. I dabble in a bit of everything. From working with polymer clay to crocheting. I have yet to find a craft that I am completely committed to. Hence my decision on making my shop and blog not only about one thing, but rather on everything I make. Crafting is a big part of my life,  especially now that my other half is not working. For now my crafts are a basically keeping us from being homeless (at least until my other half finds a new job). But it isn't at all about the money for me. Crafting helps me to relax after a stressful day at work,  it also provides time for me to think. Without my crafts I feel that i wouldn't know what to do or how to spend my time. Instagram and facebook,  as well as other social media sites,  have provided me with so much inspiration. Every time i see something new i think about how i can replicate what I've seen. I am also very grateful for my friends and followers for encouraging me.
