Good Morning Planners, Today i want to talk about organization. Not the organization we all love of planning our week, but closet organization, room cleaning/organization, car cleaning/organization, and even desk cleaning weather it be at home or at work. I personally organize, and clean the best when i am angry or bored. Does this happen to you as well? When i turned about ten years old i started getting a temper. This turned into a great thing after i gave myself a few minutes to cool down. I would walk downstairs (ignoring anyone who made me mad), and i would grab a trash bag. I'm not sure what everyone else thought, but i knew i was about to unleash some crazy organization on my bedroom or whatever other room i thought needed it. This could last anywhere from ten minutes to a period of hours. Most times i would start with my closet. This normally happened at least twice a year (sometimes seasonally). I would go through my closet thoroughly, and remove any items that no longer fit, or i knew i wouldn't wear anymore (shamefully some items still had tags on them or had never been worn). Then came the organization. I would take the items that were still relevant, and i would organize them by color, rehanging, and refolding the items as well. I would then move to other rooms or relevant parts of my room that i thought needed attention such as my desk, or my bed that may or may not have needed to be made or new linens needed to be put on. Another time that i organize or clean is when i am bored. There is nothing i can't stand more (in my older age) than being bored. Being bored makes me feel stagnant, like i'm not getting anything done. Because of this i tend to throw myself into projects to keep myself busy. Even when i was younger, and i would clean in anger i would always be sure to treat the items i was bagging with care so that i could donate to The Salvation Army which wasn't far from my house. I found that this yearly, bi-yearly, or sometimes seasonal cleaning would give me a great way to help someone who might not have had as much as me, and most times thinking about that while cooling my head would make me feel even just a little bit better about the current situation. So now that you have heard my story, when do you organize the best?, and what is your favorite thing or spot to organize (besides your planner)?
